We live in the UK, and last week were on holiday in the Lake District (mountains, but not so high as yours!) and we went walking. We covered 6 and a half miles and an elevation of about 2600ft. So, very similar to your walk. I really struggled with a past pregnancy induced pelvic joint problem on the way down. The children aged 9 and 10 were bouncing along, making me feel quite antique. At one point the pain was so bad I thought I might need Mountain Rescue to get me down. But, I managed it. Praise God. But, do you know the thought that made me manage to get down? It was that I couldn't face the Rescue people thinking that I was a silly, ill-prepared woman to climb that mountain in a skirt!! So, I smiled very heartily when I read your account and then saw your beautiful photos, and all the ladies in your family skirt-clad. Hooray! Thanks for the encouragement, and apologies for the looooonnng comment. I have to say how much this post made me smile. Thank you. I would've thought it would be cool during this time of the year in the mountains, but you're all dressed lightly so it must have been very pleasant. Have a safe trip back home.
