Being an Ambassador for Christ

by Christopher (for young people)

In 2 Corinthians 5, Paul tells us that we are ambassadors for Christ. Is there practical and deep application hidden in this concept? How many areas of our life will be impacted? Come along for a look into the life of a real ambassador: Joseph Grew, the ambassador to Japan from 1932 through December 7, 1941. Learn about situations that occurred in his life and by biblical comparison, how those situations can help us better understand our key role as ambassadors for Christ.

by Steve, for men

Biblical, practical, encouragement for dads who desire to be a Christ-led husband.

Building a Vision

by Steve & Teri, for the whole family

Where are you headed? What will the outcome be for your children? Do you have a family vision? Most Christian families today lack vision causing them to be adrift in a tumultuous sea of decisions regarding raising their children. Without vision, families are often shipwrecked. A Christ-Led Home Without Anger

by Steve and Teri, for dads and moms

(This session is the same as AngerRelationship Poison; we just have a different title based on the conference theme.) Christian families have a heart’s desire to raise godly children. However, it seems that anger is found in many homes, and it can undermine the effort to disciple the children. It can destroy our most precious relationships. Have you noticed how certain levels of anger are accepted and justified? Is a little anger beneficial? Do you have difficulty controlling your anger? Is a harsh tone in your voice anger? Are you discouraged by the anger in your life and in your home? Steve and Teri Maxwell will encourage you on this universally needed topic as they share from God’s Word and personal testimonies.

A Christ-Led Leader

Paul shares in his last will and testimony the deep desires of his heart for men of God. This session is immensely practical and encouraging as we look at what Paul has to say about being a man.

A Christ-Led Manager of His Time

by Steve, for dads

(This session is the same as Manager of His Time; we just have a different title based on the conference theme.) Does a dad ever have enough time? Does it seem like there are too many asking for what there is too little of—our time? How does one prioritize our most precious resource and be good stewards of it? Will you spend a small amount of time with us in exchange for greater productivity? Be encouraged that there is hope with these proven concepts from the Word of God.

Evangelism—Effectively Sharing Christ & Loving It

by Christopher, 30, for the young people

Charles Spurgeon once said, “Have you no wish for others to be saved? Then you are not saved yourself. Be sure of that.” While many believers might have a deep desire to see others saved, they aren’t actively sharing their faith. From overcoming fear, to studying how Jesus witnessed to the lost, to the missing ingredient in modern evangelism, this session is designed to equip, motivate, and encourage you! You’ll hear real life examples that resulted from everyday opportunities—opportunities that you can also experience. Transform your desire to share into reality!

She delves into hindrances to joy as well as practical aspects of it. Plenty of personal testimonies from Sarah’s life are sprinkled into the session. Young ladies of any age who can sit quietly are welcome to attend.

Bring your family, and join the Maxwells for a joy-filled evening on one stop of their musical journey. This lively session features all of the unmarried Maxwell children (7) plus Dad and Mom singing Gospel hymns with instrumental accompaniment. (This session is the same as A Christ-Led Woman's Heart; we just have a different title based on the conference theme.) The desire of a homeschooling mother’s heart is to have a meek and quiet spirit instead of discouragement, fear, and anger. Because Teri has walked the homeschooling path since 1985, she knows first-hand the struggle for a meek and quiet spirit. She gives practical insights into gaining a meek and quiet spirit that any mom can take and apply to her individual circumstances. Teri transparently shares the struggles God has brought her through with depression, anger, discouragement and fear.

How to Start and Run Your Own Home Business

by Christopher, 30, and Sarah, 27, for young people

During their teen years, homeschool students have incredible opportunities to start, run, and build successful businesses. You will not only be earning income but also learning invaluable life skills. In this practical session, given by a brother and sister team, Christopher and Sarah share how you can start your own business. The session will cover issues such as: What type of business should you start or avoid? What are the legal and tax ramifications? What skills do you need and how do you acquire them? Plus much more. You’ll come away with specific ideas—and hopefully a big dose of motivation—to start your own business!

Keeping Our Children’s Hearts

by Steve and Teri, for parents

This powerful session shares the joys and outcomes of our vital priority—keeping our children’s hearts. Rebellion and immorality are common among teens even within the Christian community. What can parents do to direct their children toward godliness rather than worldliness? Tried and true lessons from parents whose children have not rebelled—this topic represents perhaps the greatest challenge every Christian parent faces.

Learning to be Keepers at Home

by Sarah (27), Anna (17), and Mary (13)

Learning to be a keeper at home is an important skill for young ladies as they face their future. Whether you will be married or single, young ladies must be able to efficiently and joyfully manage the house. The Maxwell sisters will share how you can enjoy homemaking tasks and delight in serving your family. Practical ideas in the areas of gardening, sewing, cleaning, cooking, and baking will motivate you on what you can do in your family.

Loving Your Husband

by Teri, for ladies & daughters

It is easy for a mom to become consumed with children and day-to-day life. This leaves the opportunity for creating a huge gap in her relationship with the key person in her life—her husband. Don’t damage or lose that special relationship with your husband but rather develop and strengthen it. This is a beneficial session for daughters in their relationships with their fathers and a future husband.

Manager of His Home

by Steve, for dads

A dad often holds the key as to how successful his wife is in homeschooling and having a schedule. Being the head of a Christian family is a task that requires prayer, time, and effort. When a wife begins bringing problems to her husband, she desires a listening ear, comfort, direction, and help. In this session you will be given practical, biblical suggestions for how you can support and facilitate your wife in her role as a homeschooling mom. Often there is no better way to convey your love for your wife.

Manager of His Time

by Steve, for dads

(This session is the same as A Christ-Led Manager of His Time; we just have a different title based on the conference theme.) Does a dad ever have enough time? Does it seem like there are too many asking for what there is too little of—our time? How does one prioritize our most precious resource and be good stewards of it? Will you spend a small amount of time with us in exchange for greater productivity? Be encouraged that there is hope with these proven concepts from the Word of God.

Managers of Their Homes and Chores

by Teri, for moms

Universally, homeschooling moms face a daunting task as they fit school into already busy days. In this session, Teri shares practical, proven time-management methods from her book Managers of Their Homes. The Lord has taught Teri, a homeschooling mom since 1985, these simple, but workable solutions to the difficulty homeschooling moms have of “getting it ALL done.”

What homeschooling mom has time to teach plus do all the housework in the home? Most families would agree that it is important to have their children pitching in to help by doing chores. However, striving for the achievement of that goal is another matter. In addition, you will be introduced to a new concept in a chore system, developed by the Maxwells after many years of failure with other chore plans. From preschoolers to teens, each person can be a contributing member of the family while gaining life-long personal benefits that prepare them for life.

Preparing Sons to Provide for a Single-Income Family

by Steve, for dads & sons

Homeschooling families are often concerned about whether their sons will be adequately prepared to earn sufficient income for a one-income family. Beginning with age three and working up, Steve shares specific ways a parent can start equipping a son with the character and skills needed to eventually be a successful single-income wage earner. Learn these principles from a dad whose twenty-four-year-old homeschooled son purchased a home debt free a year before his marriage and whose second son has done the same. The session has been helpful for parents of daughters and for your sons too.

Sharing Your Faith Using Balloon Art

by Christopher, 30, for the young people

We’ve all seen those long, skinny balloons that can be twisted into various animals and hats. What many people do not know is that balloon twisting is very simple to learn. In this session young people will not only learn the basics of balloon twisting, but also how to use those skills to share the Lord Jesus Christ with the lost.

Spending Time Productively

by Christopher, 30, Joseph, 20, John, 19, and Jesse, 15

The one detail of life that every person has in common is time. Whether God gives you one decade or one century on this earth, God has given you the choice as to how to use your time. Come join the Maxwell men (Christopher, Joseph, John, and Jesse), as they share practical suggestions for how you can use your time in ways that will impact yourself, your future family, and your eternity.

Success or Failure—Where Are You Headed?

by Christopher, 30, for young men

Homeschooled young men have incredible potential for success in their lives—both spiritually and vocationally. There are tragic pitfalls that might appear innocuous on the surface to be avoided. In addition there are basic elements crucial for success in the spiritual world and in the business world. The goal of the session is to explore how the different aspects of a young man’s life will affect his future. Young men of any age who can sit quietly are welcome to attend.

What the Old Testament Kings Would Share with the Youth of Today

by Christopher, 30, for young people

“Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition.” Do you know which king’s wrong friendship ended up ruining a nation, and what Solomon should have asked for instead of wisdom? How about the king who took credit for what God did in his life? Timeless teaching that is applicable to lives today. Avoid the mistakes the kings made as you pursue success in your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
