Do you have a family vision? As a couple, are you united in heart as you seek to follow the Lord Jesus Christ? We pray that you will come away from this retreat with a new level of unity, spiritual refreshment, and challenge. The undisturbed intimate atmosphere will enable husband and wife an excellent opportunity to prayerfully discuss any special difficulties that there may be in the home.
Special attention has been given to ensure that there is a significant amount of time allocated for each couple to spend individually enjoying themselves as they seek the Lord Jesus’ direction for their family. In between sessions, Steve and Teri will be available to encourage any couple who would like to meet with them. If you have been thinking about a time away as a couple, this would be the perfect opportunity. Would you allow our family the opportunity to bless and encourage you?
(Nursing babies note: We have made the cut-off for bringing nursing babies 6 months. But, we do ask if you bring a baby that is 6 months or younger, that you understand the need to keep him quiet and avoid distracting others. It’s especially important since this is a marriage retreat, and many couples are driving a distance and paying their expenses to have a weekend to concentrate on each other.)

Challenging couples to develop real purpose via a family vision and how that will benefit marriage unity will be a key thread woven throughout the conference-teaching sessions. There will be some overlap with our existing conference workshops and additional material which has been developed specifically with a vision and unity focus.
Friday night will have new material on family vision and direction. Saturday morning will focus on anger, communication, and keeping our children’s hearts. Saturday afternoon will feature breakout sessions of specific interest for dads and moms. Moms will focus on scheduling, chores, and loving your husbands and children. Dads will hear about biblical family leadership and family devotions. Finally, on Saturday evening there will be a concluding talk on unity plus a question and answer session.

This is a time to recuperate and let your relationship with your spouse grow. This unique retreat is intimate, away from distractions, and has a deep spiritual emphasis. The goal will be for each couple to come away with a united vision for following the Lord Jesus Christ.

The retreat is being held at the Homewood Suites near the Kansas City airport. It is close enough to be convenient, but not too close to be troubled by airplane noise. The rooms are very pleasant and have recently been renovated with new pillow-top king beds. Each suite has a living room and equipped kitchen.
A $50 retreat fee will cover food for each couple. This will provide Friday and Saturday’s dinners plus Saturday lunch. Breakfast is complimentary with the hotel room. To attend the retreat, you must be staying at the Homewood Suites Friday and Saturday nights. King suites are reserved separately by each couple through the Homewood Suites for a negotiated room rate of $89/night (plus tax).
The conference will begin Friday night at 5 p.m. and end Saturday evening at 9 p.m.
A retreat reservation must be made first. Then you will be e-mailed the code for reserving your room. There is a maximum of 26 couples, and any unreserved suites after October 13th will be let go from our reserved block of suites.
