Subject: We saw immediate results

By: A mom

The fact is, we had our own chore system, but it wasn’t working. The ChorePack system gave all of our children an excitement, and we saw immediate results. It helped with organization and them being able to do the chores on their own.

Subject: LOVING the Chore Packs!

By: Roan

My dear husband and I have 5 precious children. 10yog, 8yog, 7yob, 2yog, 2mob. I am LOVING the Chore Packs! I had a pretty good chore system in place, but it just needed a little tweaking. I am using the Scripture throughout the book with my children, to work on all of our attitudes (mine too) about chores. What a blessing!

Also the Chore Packs are just wonderful. That is just what we needed. I was forever asking, "Have you made your bed, brushed your teeth, fed the dog, etc." The chores were listed, but the kids would get distracted. The Chore Packs solved that! I can look at their Chore Pack and tell where they are . . . no more asking, "Mama, what do I do now?" My 2yo asked for a Chore Pack too, so I made her one. She feels so proud wearing it, and the older kids help her "read" her pictures.

A big lesson I learned from MOTC was to schedule time to check the chores. What a difference that makes! Thank you for all of your wonderful ideas!

Subject: I didn't have to nag.

By: A mom

It enabled the girls to do their own chores well, to not have to argue about whose turn it was or what they were going to do, and I didn't have to nag. It made me proud of them and boosted their self-esteem.

Subject: Book would be a blessing to any family no matter the age or # of children!

By: Pam

I have an infant and an almost 2 year old. MOTC has been a great help to me in organizing the chores that I personally do and establishing a system for our oldest DD. The pre-reader card idea is great and is beneficial to even our very young daughter.

We can go through the chore pack together as I help her with her "chores" such as making her bed, brushing teeth, putting napkins on the table, picking up toys etc. It has helped me be more consistent doing chores with her and helped the consistency of our schedule overall. MOTC I think would be a blessing to any family no matter the age or number of their children.

Subject: Chore Library helpful

By: A mom

The Chore Library was helpful because we now have a list with all the chores that need to be done around here. We went through the Chore Library, took off those we don’t do, and added some of our own. It would have taken us a lot longer without the Chore Library, and it helped us see what chores need to be done.

Subject: Easy of use

By: A mom

Its simplicity and ease of use encouraged independence and accountability at a young age.

Subject: We've hit the mark

By: BonnieJean

After weeks of prep work, and that started before MOTC came out, so really years of trying to get something to work and something to stick too and something that wasn't down stairs when I was up and up stairs when I was down, and not on the computer, and not paper after paper after paper of check lists, I think we've hit the mark.

I have five boys, 14, 12, 11, 9 and 3.5 and a girl on the way in October. I knew I had to have something in place and there hadn't been time before I dealt with cancer last year to really implement things.

I already had my Master chore list done years ago, but I was missing the tools to implement it.

Now on to school scheduling.

Subject: Children responded well

By: A mom

The children responded very well, actually enjoying doing the chores and following the steps or the order.

Subject: Our children were excited to use ChorePacks!

By: A mom

We already had a chore system, but our children seemed to be eager and excited to use the ChorePacks. They liked them right away.

Subject: Liked sample pages

By: A mom

I appreciated the sample pages.

Subject: Younger children/chores

By: A mom

Our younger children love seeing pictures of themselves doing their chores. Everyday our two-year-old daughter smiles, points to her picture, and says, “That’s me taking my garbage can downstairs!”

Subject: Very useful system

By: A mom

I think it's a very useful system. It really helps to establish a routine when you are unorganized.

Subject: Liked the examples

By: A mom

Everything was laid out so well—I liked the examples.

Subject: It was wonderful!

By: Toya

I did finish MOTC yesterday and as expected, it was wonderful! In addition to the chore system information and help, my favorite part of the book was the continual reminders (gentle, yet firm) that Mom's attitude can make or break the whole process. I for one certainly need that encouragement. Also I think the Chore book is a perfect companion to MOTH and Keeping Our Children's Hearts.

Training our children to learn to serve others and strive for, complete and desire hard work is certainly Biblically based. And placed within the frame of a daily schedule (much needed for sanity and order) and working towards maintaining our children's hearts, well--- just absolutely beautiful.

Subject: Focus on God and serving from the heart

By: Shana

I have SO many books on housework, organizing, decluttering etc...and have seen and visited just as many websites. The problem is most put all the work on mom and many never even mention chores for children and the benefits. I knew this would be THE [Managers of Their Chores] best for my family because of the focus that is put on God and the serving from the heart to make the family stronger with everyone pitching in.

I am enjoying reading the book and taking it very slowly and not skipping ahead :o) I have a lot of books that never gave me the Godly help I need to throw out. I am so thankful for this book. Thank you for another great book.

Subject: Loved it!

By: A mom

I loved it. It’s been great.

Subject: Realization of daily role as a wife and mom

By: Jen

I just wanted to share a testimony with you and Steve. I have had a realization in my daily role as a wife and mom. As I was folding towels it struck me that what I was doing was not a waste of time - it was my ministry. I always wanted to hurry while folding laundry because I wanted to get on to something more important. I felt that way with most of my home duties. I was passing that on to the kids as well. Hurry and do chores so we can get to the important stuff! How wrong I was. Because of this change of heart I have joyfully been doing my own "Chorepack" for several days now and am looking forward to adding more cards to it!

Obviously, the Lord is given all the glory for bringing me to this point. However, I firmly believe He used MOTH, MOTC and Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit (especially the Hard Work and Dying to Self chapter) to accomplish this in my own heart. I pray this will be an encouragement to you both as you begin the conference circuit this summer.

Praising Him,
Jen

Subject: Wow!!

By: Wendy

I've been up a lot with the kids at night and came down with a cold last night. My dear husband offered to take a sick day so I could stay in bed and get well.

When I got up at 10:00, as I made my way downstairs I checked on the boys' rooms. It seemed that their chores were done—beds were made and their rooms were picked up, no pjs on the floor.

Wow, my dear husband sure did a lot with them, or so I thought. When I commented on them doing their chores, they looked at me and said of course we did our chore packs—they were waiting for me to inspect.

My dear husband was also pleased and impressed that they were able to do them entirely on their own. My 6 year old has 9 things in his AM chore pack and rarely even complains about it, he actually tries to see how many he can do without switching and checking his chore pack. He has just as much time (if not more) to play before school and is happier because I haven't been hounding him all AM. Thank you for this practical plan. It is really working. Even for me. Now to add a pack midday to help with lunch prep and clean up...

Subject: Really helped me

By: Kim

I especially liked the chapter on Mom's Attitude. I grew up in a home where "children should be children" and though we require chores, we haven't required as much as we could because I have continued to be effected by "children should be children". I have also struggled with the "it's easier for me to just do it".

I really benefited from working through the process of chores. It really helped me in some areas that I was frustrated with. Many of those things were very simple things. I simply hadn't thought of it. One example is that our bookshelf in the living room is often a mess. So I added in to have it straightened daily. It takes a tiny amount of time because it is done daily but it has stayed looking nice this whole week. The 2 yo also has a shelf of books that are "his". He straightens his shelf daily too (now) :-)

Subject: Older mom with two sons

By: Margaret

I am an older mother(mid-40's) with two sons (under 10). I just purchased the Managers of Their Chores and am almost finished reading it. I am looking forward to how the Lord will continue to change and grow me as well as preparing my sons for their future mates and adult lives.

Thanks to Teri and Steve Maxwell for putting this book together. I have not been consistent with my boys' daily chores and am looking forward to learning along with them (I had only a few chores required of me growing up).

Subject: "Mommy didn't do all the work today."

By: Kristina

Today (day 4) my daughter asked for afternoon chores...so we added those. My husband came home from work at 4:15 and I already had dinner ready and the house was picked up. We were able to eat an hour early because I am not as scattered as I was....of course, some of that is the MOTH [Managers of Their Homes] and not just the MOTC [Managers of Their Chores].

At dinner, my dd told her daddy that "Mommy didn't do all the work today. She had 2 big helpers!" Work truly brings joy to even a child's soul.

Subject: Provided the hope I desperately needed

By: Anita Marie

The "Managers" books came along just in time to provide the hope I desperately needed. And now I am especially thankful for the keeping hearts book! Wow, what a book! Did my family ever need this, and just at the right time! Amazing! I believe the truths in this book will help my family for eternity! I am thrilled to tell others about these resources at every opportunity.

Subject: User-friendly system

By: A mom

I appreciated the adjusting of our cultural work paradigm to a biblical one on serving, and giving us a user-friendly system to implement it in our families.

Subject: My 22 month old wanted to be like his big sisters!

By: A mom

My 22 month old wanted me to clip one on his diaper so he could be like his big sisters.

Subject: ChorePacks.com website is amazing!

By: Sarah

Wow ... your ChorePacks website is amazing!! I'm a homeschooling mom of 4. I am almost finished reading the Managers of Their Chores book. I'm so
excited to get the ChorePacks made!! I just want to thank you in advance for this website. What a great follow-up to your book. I think every other book I've used is lacking just this! You give people excellent info and then also the follow-up ... and how to's.

Subject: Free from the daily burden of trying to do it all

By: Heather

I have just implemented the Managers of Their Chores. Wow! My children are consistently doing their chores and I am free from the daily burden of trying to do it all. Now I know it will get done at a certain time and my children are growing in responsibility and independence and obedience. Thank you for such a wonderful resource.

Subject: Helpful even for learning challenged children

By: Sandra

I purchased your special and am already enjoying your ChorePacks. The portable packs are especially helpful with our 'learning challenged' children that need detailed lists of what to do. By clipping their chores to them, they do not forget the lists and can stay on task!

Subject: Mom's Attitude

By: Teresa

I was convicted of my attitude of work and to be more consistent. This book has been a great help.

Subject: Uplifting book/ChorePacks.com user friendly

By: Sara

Our family has begun the week with ChorePacks and our Master Chore List. So far so good. We need to make a few minor adjustments. The Managers of our Chores book was uplifting (I know that sounds like a funny thing to say). I greatly appreciate how Mr. & Mrs. Maxwell cited Scripture over and over again.

I also wanted to address how user friendly chorepacks.com is. I am somewhat computer literate, but to have everything streamlined on the website was so helpful. It saved me a lot of time. I especially like the pre-reader chore card creator.

Subject: ChorePacks create accountability

By: A Mom

I was very skeptical, often times I start something and then the children run over me, and I can't keep up with my keep-up system. However, the ChorePacks have created such accountability, now, the children understand that the packs have to be turned in to be inspected and if they're not we don't move forward, this creates a sense of urgency to complete tasks & to complete them well.....Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!

Subject: Feel comfortable now having guests

By: A mom

The Chore Pack system has helped not only my children, but me as well. I have organized my own household duties, and I am so pleased at how much cleaner and more orderly my home is. My husband has always felt that hospitality is one of our family's gifts. However, I was always scrambling to make our home presentable before we could extend hospitality.

Now I feel comfortable having people over at a moment's notice! Thanks so much for helping us so that we can show God's love to others.

Subject: Revolutionized our days

By: Fay

What a blessing! ChorePacks revolutionized our days. We get more done in less time, and I don't have to micromanage every child's chores. What a relief! The book was great, and ChoreWare is an awesome resource. After two weeks of using our ChorePacks I am ready to go back into ChoreWare to tweak things a bit. I'm so excited to have all my customized chore info stored where I can easily manipulate it anytime. Thank you, and God bless you all!

Subject: Answer to problems

By: G Family, Australia

We have found ChorePacks to be the answer to our chore problems. Now, our children do their chores with enthusiasm and a lot of fun!

Subject:

By: Kelly

Your system is AWESOME, and we appreciate your ministry. What a brilliant idea the Lord gave you for family chores!

Subject: Children excited about ChorePacks

By: Nicole

We started our "first day of school" today (we'll just do the schedule and get organized and trained this week and add in the academics next week as Teri recommended) and when it came to AM Chores on the schedule I heard the children saying, "Hey, where are our new ChorePacks? Don't we get new ChorePacks? Let's go ask Mommy?" I ran and gave them their new cards and watched them flip through them and then Emily (7) said, "Oh, Mommy, I don't have any new chores in mine!" I said, "Well, Anne (9) isn't helping you unload the dishwasher anymore and Caleb (4) is just doing silverware, so now you're the dishwasher boss."

Her eyes lit up and and she smiled and ran off to do her chores. She was helping Caleb (who had pictures on his cards last year but now has words since he will be learning his letters) sound out the chores in his new ChorePack. I showed Anne exactly how to wash the breakfast dishes all by herself and as we walked out of the kitchen together, she said, "I love washing dishes. I'd done it before but now I know exactly what to do." All these little things just make me smile so big I want to laugh out loud-it's JOY! I love being a wife and mommy and homeschool teacher. I will remind myself of all these things in a couple weeks when I hear, "Why do I have to do the dishes?" or "Caleb's not doing his part of the dishwasher!" And I'll still love being a wife and mommy and homeschool teacher even in the midst of the training days, which are harder than days like this but still wonderful in their own way.

Subject: Two Years and Going Strong

By: Robyn

We have been using them [ChorePacks] for almost 2 years now, and we are definitely seeing the fruit of that labor-the ChorePacks help us (parents) with our consistency, and the children are much happier when we hold them to it.
