Titus2Cookbook FAQ and Posting Criteria
Copyrighted Recipes
Recipes can not be posted from any copyrighted sources such as web-sites, cookbooks, etc, unless you are given permission from the publisher or copyright holder. You are welcome to link to a recipe source, but not copy that recipe into a post. For more information on copyrights, please visit - http://www.copyright.gov/fls/fl122.html
We will assume if you are posting a recipe that it is not copyrighted. We are not held responsible for any recipes posted in which the poster may have violated copyright.
Who Can Post?
- Titus2Cookbook is a message board for ladies only.
What Can Be Posted?
Titus2Cookbook was designed and intended to be a support for moms who are interested in cooking and baking. Therefore, we will approve posts that are along the topics of cooking and baking.
Why Doesn't My Message Appear Right Away?
- In order to keep this website focused and to protect our web visitors from bad language, inappropriate posts, or other offensive material, we have opted to approve each message before it appears on the forum. No other options (login requirements, server side scripts, etc.) provide the same level of protection!
I Posted a Message 2 Days Ago, and It Never Appeared.
- Your message likely didn't meet the Posting Criteria and was not approved.
I Have Problems Posting to Titus2Cookbook.
- In order to use Titus2Cookbook, you must be using an Internet Browser that supports cookies. If you're having problems posting and are receiving error messages relating to cookies, please make sure your browser supports cookies and that they are enabled.
Why Was My Post Edited?
- As moderators, we have reserved the right to edit posts. We will take out a portion of a post that would cause it to not be approved, but we will not otherwise revise the post (unless a word or two needs to be added for the context of the post). Often a mom will write a long post that is fine, but one sentence would cause it to be disapproved. Therefore, we feel it is better to edit the post, in consideration of the value of the author's time, than to disapprove it. For example, we may have a post written with a recipe in it, but the author's home business is mentioned. We will simply take that section of the post out that had the author’s home business in it. If post editing such as this is offensive to you, we ask that you not be a part of our forums, reading or posting.
Posting Criteria
Can I Post Links to Other Sites?
- Yes, but we don't approve any website that has a Yahoogroups or a similar e-mail list or website hosting. We so strongly disagree with what these groups allow on their lists and the access to them that we won't approve sites that use them. Please look at the site you want to mention in your post and see who hosts their e-mail list before you post. If the site has e-mail lists that support their site, please check these out as well.
- We don't approve links to message boards or websites similar in content to www.Titus2.com.
- We don't approve links to sites that sell the same books as we sell. This is because maintaining these websites is very costly. We do this at our own personal expense. Our book sales helps to support these message boards.
- We don't approve links to sites that are obviously unchristian, immodest, or otherwise unacceptable.
What about Individuals with Resources for Sale?
- We have established a "no self-promotion" policy.
- We don't approve any post in which the author mentions her business, work, or something she or her family sells or has a vested interest in.
- We don't approve posts that link to the poster's own website, even if there is nothing for sale on it.
- We don't approve posts that mention or have the content of something the poster presents in workshops, has written for a publication or private dissemination, or anything else that is being used in other ways outside these boards.
- We don't approve posts where the author posts frequently, in various areas, setting herself up as an authority.
- We believe this policy is good for the board in general. It is also a protection for us. It means that we do not have to try to discern those individuals who may be using the boards for their own personal gain and purposes.
Medical and Legal Disclaimer
- No suggestions given on Titus2Cookbook are to be construed as medical/legal advice or counsel. They are merely thoughtful suggestions given by friends, based on their experience, just as you might hear from a friend during a face-to-face conversation. As with any suggestion, research it yourself. Whether that means running it by a doctor, lawyer, pastor, or certified counselor, research it until you are satisfied.
Legal Mumbo Jumbo
- By using this site you are agreeing to hold us harmless and totally without liability. We make reasonable effort to ensure that the information we author/approve is accurate; however, mistakes are possible and the reader is responsible for the use of any information. The message boards are a public forum for which we take no responsibility. We do our best to screen and delete negative, inflammatory, inaccurate, dishonest, illegal, and/or objectionable posts/messages, but we cannot assume responsibility or liability for any posts/messages you read.
The
Posting Test
When we
began the MOTHBoard, we called this the "Encouragement Test." However, we have found we needed to change that name because what is encouraging
to one mom can be discouraging to another.
We are committed to
building mothers up as they are using a schedule, and we will not post
messages that we consider argumentative, confrontational, inflammatory,
or even ungrateful (such as asking for input and then criticizing the
response given). Even if a person didn't mean her post that way, if we
feel it could be taken that way, we will delete it. Ephesians 4:29, "Let
no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for
necessary edification (building up), that it may impart grace to the hearers."
For example, almost
any male-dominated forum can be catapulted into a heated debate by one
person, maybe even an outsider to the board, posting that the PC is far
better than the Macintosh. It is a senseless debate, as it is up to each
to choose a computer based on his individual circumstances and preferences.
A MOTHBoard example
that poses no benefit to the hearers is a debate on demand versus scheduled
feeding of a baby. Some posts may not be overt, but there is a definite
air of trying to persuade others to change their position. If a person
wants to contribute how she has learned to make either demand or scheduled
feeding work with a schedule, that is of benefit. There are mothers from
both sides who want to learn how to manage their homes.
We are often told that
MOTH has blessed a home. We believe part of that is because we haven't
sought to change moms, just help them. We have not wanted to pour anyone
into a predetermined mold, but have given mothers a tool that they can
individually apply to their lives and homes as God leads. That same approach
must be followed here on all our forums.
We have been so honored
to be a blessing to the most important, wonderful women on the face of
this earth, mothers committed to pouring out their lives for their families.
As a result, we will make every effort to ensure that each minute that
a mother spends on the "board" away from the tasks at hand is
valuable and uplifting.
If God should lead
you in a new direction, away from participation in MOTHBoard, that is
between Him, your husband, and you. God does not lead through discouraging
or negative comments. Our Lord is so gracious and gentle, even in times
of rebuke, and we want to stay clear of getting in the way of His leading
your family.
We will delete posts
when we feel the author has crossed the spirit of our forums. We often
don't have time to notify you if a post was denied; it just won't appear.
We understand this
board will be for some and not for others. We encourage you to seek your
direction from the Lord. While we strive to please everyone, we have discovered
with MOTHBoard it is simply not possible. If this forum does not meet
your needs, we accept that and pray the Lord will direct you to a place
that will.
May God bless you all
richly with joy and contentment in your sacred calling.
In Christ Jesus,
Steve and Teri Maxwell
