Large Frames for Scripture Prints
At this point we are not offering framed prints due to the expense of the frames and the challenge that it would be to ship the frames (instead of s/h being $6.50 for an entire order of prints, the freight alone could easily be $15 per framed print! Keep reading to find out why $15 is a significant price.).
We have been amazed at how easy it is to purchase beautiful, large sized, wooden frames for very reasonable prices! If you were to visit our home, you would see the following frame on our living room wall:
This 16x20 frame is made of wood. It has a glass front to protect the print (some cheap poster frames don't have glass!), and has a nice cardboard backer (along with a metal hanger).
You would never guess that the frame cost $15 from a nearby Hobby Lobby store (yes, there was also sales tax, so the full price was probably closer to $16).

Large Format, Frames
We have found that almost every major craft store has a large frame section. This includes Hobby Lobby's, JoAnn's, and other craft stores. We have also found the frame market is very competitive! Craft stores often run "50% off" specials for their frame departments. Check out your nearby craft store's web site for upcoming specials, or give your local store a call. The frames that we have at our house are beautiful wood 16x20 frames that only cost $15 each (when they were 50% off).
If you are buying stock frames on sale from a major craft store there are a few things to keep in mind:
- The frames are often stacked together with very little padding/protection while on display. Look very closely at the entire frame to make sure it is not "marked up" or "damaged" before you buy it. For us, it is a 45-minute drive to Hobby Lobby and we don't want to hassle with a return!
- You never know how long the frame style you choose will remain "in stock" and will be carried by the craft store. When we saw the frame style (shown above and below) that we really liked, we bought a number of the 16x20 frames. That way we have a number of matching frames for future Scripture Prints. Even if you are only ordering one Scripture Print to start with, you may want to consider buying several frames so that when you get additional Scripture Prints the frame styles will match.
Obviously, if you would like something besides a "stock" frame you can always have the Scripture Prints "custom framed", and those prices will likely start at a minimum of $100 or $150. With custom frames you will have many additional choices relating to wood type, glass type, as well as matte options.
